The Hybrid
Approach
Remote working has changed the workplace, causing organisations to reassess their workspaces and the needs of their employees. Some might say that remote working has confined workplace interactions to a small, two-dimensional space.
On the other hand, these hybrid work models have increased employee independence, promoted greater awareness of the value of physical presence, and allowed a flexible approach to working that is to the benefit
of many, such as those who value the extra time with their family. The hybrid model of working also prompts innovation, particularly in the case of technology.
Diverse Solution
Research has shown that many employees have preferred to remain office-based, however no two employees’ needs are identical, and there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution.
Balanced Solution
The hybrid approach is one of balance, and this balance should be reflected when providing spaces for individual and group working. The open- plan office remains the standard, fostering the collaboration that many employees seek from the office environment.
